⚠️ HISTORICAL REFERENCE DATA ONLY - published 2016-17. AIHW has not released a refreshed machine-readable hospital list since then (current data is on the interactive MyHospitals dashboard, not data.gov.au). Hospital openings, closures, name changes, and LHN reorganisations since 2017 are NOT reflected. Use with that caveat for trend analysis or peer-group studies; do NOT use as a current registration source. AIHW directory of every public hospital included in the national hospitals databases. ~700 hospitals × state × peer group × remoteness × Local Hospital Network × Medicare provider number × IHPA funding designation × bed count. The named-entity table that powers "how many public hospitals were in NSW (as of 2016-17)?", "list all Principal referral hospitals in Victoria", or "find hospitals in Remote Australia".
