Net Overseas Migration (NOM) - arrivals, departures, and the published NET flow, by state/territory, age, and sex, on a financial-year grid (year ending 30 June). Source: ABS Net Overseas Migration (cat 3412.0 Migration, Australia), SDMX dataflow NOM_FY. Unlike the older `ABS_NOM_VISA_CY` visa-subclass series (which only publishes arrivals and departures and stops at 2022), this dataset publishes the headline NET figure directly and runs to the most recent financial year (FY2025 = year ending 30 June 2025). It is the canonical series for "is the migration intake outrunning housing supply?" - the dominant rents/immigration chart of 2024-26. Defaults to NET migration, all ages, persons, Australia. Pass `direction=arrivals` or `direction=departures` for the gross flows, or `region=nsw` etc. for a state. For the visa-subclass breakdown (student, skilled, working holiday, permanent skill/family) use the companion `ABS_NOM_VISA_CY` dataset; for calendar-year periods use the raw `NOM_CY` dataflow via search/describe. Periods are annual (e.g. 2025 = financial year ending 30 June 2025).
