Full description
Industry-aggregate quarterly P&L and balance-sheet metrics for all Authorised Deposit-taking Institutions (ADIs) - banks, credit unions, building societies - going back to September 2004. Each record is a (metric, quarter) pair with one observation value, expressed in $ million (consolidated group basis). This is the dataset analysts cite for "how has Australian bank sector net interest income evolved since 2004?", "how did ADI profitability weather the 2014-2018 mortgage tightening?", and similar trend questions. Where ADI_KEY_STATS gives you a per-entity capital snapshot for the latest quarter only, ADI_PERFORMANCE gives you the 21-year sector-level trajectory. Metrics tracked (~36 line items): interest income (housing loans, term loans, deposits, borrowings), net interest income, other operating income, total operating income, operating expenses, net profit after tax, impaired assets, total assets, total liabilities, equity. For per-entity (CBA vs WBC vs NAB) capital and asset comparisons in the latest quarter, use ADI_KEY_STATS. For per-entity time series, accumulate ADI_KEY_STATS snapshots (APRA does not publish an entity-level back-series).
